Painting Today, "Afternoon Dreaming" Gordon van Vliet
Today's Painting is 11 x14 oil on canvas. The sketch took about two hours at this point and will probably continue or start a new piece based on this. "Afternoon Dreaming" inspired by the hot, hot weather in upstate New York. Enough to make mirages appear and the mind escape. I need a better camera, so much is missed by the grainy shots.

Always interesting to see what amateur painters produce.
I paint myself, watercolour and acrylic, I can't stand the smell of oil painting!
It takes years before you actually understand any technique.
How long have you been painting portraits?
What courses can you get in New York?
I live in france and only know our museums in Paris.
There are galleries for modern painters, and of course "Beaubourg", but only old famous modernists.
I'll take time to have a closer look at the links you give.
Very lively paintings you make!Great!

Thank you Oceanne for your kind comment. I use an oderless solvent which greatly reduces the order, plus ventilation.
