Castles Made of Sand
Here I am building sandcastles at the beach. This a favorite summer past time. I have come to this place on and off for over 40 years. Sauble Beach, Ontario on the base of the Bruce Peninsula of Lake Huron is quiet and little changed in all that time. This beach has it all, sand dunes, a long gradual incline into the water and great rolling breaker during the storm. Spectacular sunsets in the peaceful evenings.This is 5" x 7" oil on canvas.

This is one of your best so far! The color, lighting, and good drawing all work together to make this a believable and interesting painting.
Lori, glad you like it. Maybe One day I will build some castles in Florida where the palm trees wave in the tropical breeze. :)

Gordon, this figure is very gestural and the treatment of the hand is especially masterful. The flesh tones are so convincing, even though it's from a photo. And the detail is beautifully done, even on this fairly rough canvas. It's wonderful. K. L.

Too funny Mr. D. I will endeavor to do that, and don't worry, I couldn't get too excited of staring into a mirror and painting that image. I would need a bit more inspiring view. :)

This painting gives me a true sense of how you feel about this very special place, and for me that's what painting is all about. Great job technically speaking, too.

Never knew you could paint so well Gordon, but then again, 40 years has gone by since your family and mine got together often.
This double bowlkitchen stainless stee sink has a 60/40 design, which means that the left basin is slightly larger than the one on the right. You can use this difference to help keep the dirty dishes separate from the clean dishes while you wash them, moving them between each bowl as you go. Alternately, you could put your larger pots and pans in the bigger bowl and your dishes and glasses in the smaller one so that you don’t end up with the small items trapped under the bigger ones when the sink starts to fill up. It’s all really up to you, since the size difference just opens up lots of usage options
